Jeffrey D. Klein
President and CEO
Mr. Klein joined The Global FoodBanking Network as the President and CEO in January 2011 following a 30-year career in finance and investment in private and public companies in the United States, Latin America, and Asia. He is focused on expanding the reach of the network, building organizational capacity, and deepening GFN’s funding base. He is committed to leveraging relationships with the global anti-hunger community, governments, and the global food and grocery industry to enhance our collective impact on hunger. Mr. Klein made the move to GFN after deciding to devote the next stage of his life’s work to addressing one of the world’s most pressing humanitarian issues, hunger. He holds a BSBA in Finance from Georgetown University.

Christopher Rebstock
Senior Vice President Network Development
Mr. Rebstock is a seasoned food bank professional with over thirty years of experience in the field. He played a leading role in the formation of The Global FoodBanking Network in response to the growing international interest in food banking. Previous to GFN, Mr. Rebstock was the Executive Director of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and then served as the Vice President of Member Support at America’s Second Harvest, now known as Feeding America. As the head of GFN’s Network Development department he travels extensively and manages food bank development projects, member support, and training activities.  

Craig A. Nemitz, Ph.D. (h.c.)
Director of Field Services
Mr. Nemitz has been involved in the food banking sector for almost twenty years. Currently he is GFN’s Director of Field Services, managing new food bank development and overseeing member compliance. Previously he served as a Network Services Representative and the first Director of Disaster Services at America’s Second Harvest. Craig has earned numerous distinctions including the prestigious International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance; and has been recognized for his humanitarian service with an Honorary Doctorate in Social Work. He is a Charter Member of the Channahon-Minooka (IL) Rotary Club and is GFN’s liaison to Rotary International.

Anthony Kitchen
Manager of Network Programs
Mr. Kitchen moved to Chicago from the United Kingdom in order to join the Global FoodBanking Network in October 2012 following 10 years of working in the corporate sector in Management Consulting and directly in the food industry. He brings a wide range of experience having completed a number of successful projects for a variety of clients in the retail and consumer goods industries during 8 years at Accenture. In 2008 Anthony worked on behalf of the Global FoodBanking Network in South Africa helping to establish FoodBank South Africa and particularly exploring the food sourcing opportunities in that country. After leaving Accenture he spent 3 years working for the largest dairy company in the UK before moving to the Global FoodBanking Network. Anthony holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University Of Bath.

David Millar
Network Development Assistant
Mr. Millar joined the GFN staff in 2010. He supports the network development team, and plays a vital role in coordinating technology solutions for the organization. He is a recent graduate of the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations with a BS in Diplomacy and International Relations.

Sue Canepa
Director of Communications
Ms. Canepa joined The Global FoodBanking Network in 2012 and is responsible for the development and coordination of GFN’s external communications. She has a wealth of experience in developing integrated marketing programs that introduce, reposition and sustain global brands including: Gatorade, McDonald’s, Crest, Campbell’s Soups, Nike, General Mills, Charmin, Pampers, and more. In doing so, she concepted and managed numerous large-scale special events, media events, cause-related marketing efforts, sponsorships and consumer education programs. Her work has won awards from the Public Relations Society of America, The Publicity Club of Chicago and The International Association of Business Communicators. Sue graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Journalism.

Caitlin Sammons
Online Communications and Social Media Coordinator
Ms. Sammons joined GFN in August 2013 and is responsible for sharing GFN news and engaging with the GFN community on our social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. After five years of working at two of Chicago’s top advertising agencies, Caitlin decided to make a change and join the non-profit world. Between careers, she spent six months volunteering in Peru and Costa Rica and saw the devastating effects of hunger and malnutrition on individuals and impoverished communities. Caitlin graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Journalism and Cinema.

Cathe Wood
Director of Donor Relations
Ms. Wood joined GFN in 2009 and is responsible for managing GFN's donor relations and stewardship program. Previously, she served as Director of Development and Communications at Zonta International and the Zonta International Foundation, a global organization of executives and professionals dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls around the world. Prior to joining the nonprofit sector, she spent 15 years in corporate and marketing communications. She holds a BA degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.

Tim Hammerly
Director of Individual and Foundation Giving
Mr. Hammerly joined the GFN team in 2013. As Director of Individual and Foundation Giving, he is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive major gifts program in support of GFN’s global operations. Previously, he served as the national Major Gifts Officer for Bethlehem University in the Holy Land and as the Director of the Give Hope Campaign for the Chicago Kroc Center. In total, Tim brings fifteen years of experience within the non-profit sector as a direct program service provider, administrator and fundraiser. He graduated from Bradley University with degrees in Business Management and Economics.

Beth Saks, CPA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Saks joined GFN in 2008. In her position as Chief Financial Officer she directs all financial and administrative functions for the organization including budgeting, cash management, financial planning and analysis, annual audit and tax filings, human resources, and office administration. Prior to GFN, she worked as an independent consultant on financial management and systems implementation issues for non-profit organizations and served as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for Feeding America as well as spending several years in public accounting at Deloitte & Touche. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds an MBA in finance and accounting from Northwestern University, Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
